About Delhi Metro

Delhi Metro is a world-class rapid transit system serving Delhi, the National Capital Territory of India, and neighboring satellite cities. Operated by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), it's one of the largest and busiest metro systems in the world, carrying over 2.5 million passengers daily across its extensive network.

Since its inception in 2002, Delhi Metro has revolutionized public transportation in the capital region, providing a reliable, efficient, and environmentally friendly alternative to road transport. The network features state-of-the-art technology, including driverless trains on select lines and advanced safety systems.

Metro Network Lines

The Delhi Metro network comprises 8 color-coded regular lines plus the Airport Express Line, covering over 389 kilometers and connecting 285+ stations across Delhi-NCR. Each line serves distinct corridors:

  • Red Line: Connects Rithala to Shaheed Sthal, spanning 34 stations
  • Yellow Line: Runs from Samaypur Badli to HUDA City Centre, covering 37 stations
  • Blue Line: The longest line connecting Dwarka Sector 21 to Noida Electronic City/Vaishali
  • Green Line: Links Brig. Hoshiar Singh to Inderlok/Kirti Nagar
  • Violet Line: Connects Kashmere Gate to Raja Nahar Singh (Ballabgarh)
  • Pink Line: The "Ring Line" with 38 stations

Delhi Metro Services

Delhi Metro operates from approximately 5:30 AM to 11:30 PM daily, with trains arriving at frequencies ranging from 2-4 minutes during peak hours to 5-10 minutes during off-peak hours. The system offers various passenger services including:
